Georgian International Festival of Arts GIFT in Tbilisi in honor of Mikhail Tumanishvili pilots a new enterprise with a young British motion animator and illustrator Tom Graham Adiani and his Georgian peer Giorgi Apkhazava from Creative Laboratory ART LAB. Based on mutual collaboration we plan to create a new animation “Discover Georgia” using puppets already made by ART LAB and  the most innovative technical equipment from Britain. By visiting several important places the group will identify the great film/video locations in Georgia and Tbilisi, to launch an independent animation and lead another artistic experiment of the GIFT Festival.

Tom Graham-Adriani was born in London to Dutch and English parents and graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2005. He has subsequently exhibited in a number of renowned galleries including; The Northern Gallery For Contemporary Art, ' A Modern Bestiary' (2006), The Factory Berlin, 'London Contemporaries' (2007), Wiltons Music Hall (the world's oldest surviving Grand Music Hall) 'Book of Phobias' solo show (2008) and most recently, The St Pancras Crypt Gallery, where he both exhibited in and curated 'Tales from the Electric Forest' (2009).

“My work aims to contemporize age-old folkloric and mythological tales and to create new tales that reflect society’s current (and permanent) fears and aspirations.I have a particular fixation with urban myths and there relationship to the city. I avidly collect and create them as I feel such tales are brimming with deep-rooted emotional grammar. They freely allow both creator and viewer wonder into the depths of the subconscious. I see the stories I make as tangible daydreams and am fascinated by the process of using pen and ink to render thoughts visible and given a life of their own.”  Says Tom.

On November 10, at the Small Venue Tumanishvili Film Actors Theatre Young British artist Tom Graham-Adriani will screen his latest work “The Moonshine Dream Story” and announce a new Georgian-British collaboration between Tom and Creative Laboratory ART LAB leaded by

Giorgi Apkhazava. The Gift festival invites Tom’s Georgian colleagues, artistes and future animators to join our venture where many interesting ideas will be discussed.

The “Discover Georgia “ animation is planned to be premiered in London  and at many international festivals supported by the Georgian International Festival of Arts GIFT in Tbilisi in honor of Michael Tumanishvili.
